Hi All,

I'm out of the area. I live in Strathmore, which is near Visalia, which is between Fresno and Bakersfield in the San Joaquin Valley, Central California. I am a teacher at a K-12 charter school working with homeschool families (http://www.erclc.org). I also produce educational materials on the side. My current project is to produce materials that would make high school math more homeschool-teachable.

My programming experience is mostly in Pascal (DOS), but I have been learning Python on my own. My reason for associating with SeaPIG is to have someone to talk programming with...there is nobody around here who programs in ANYTHING. SeaPIG seems like a reaonably friendly/active group, so I'm in as a virtual member.

Background: I have a BS in Physics from Harvey Mudd College and an MS in Mathematics from Cal Poly. My primary avocation over the years has been astronomy, although I haven't done much over the last year. I wrote a major astronomy program in Borland Pascal in the 80's and 90's called Deep Space, which didn't complete too well with The Sky because they went to Windows while I stayed stuck in DOS. I'm now learning to program all over again with Python.
