Duane Blanchard

I've been in Seattle since 1998 when my wife and I moved back to the States from China where we taught EFL. We moved here for graduate school, linguistics for me and public health for her. We took some time getting settled and I enrolled in an excellent computer programming certificate program at North Seattle Community College while waiting for my residency to be recognized.

I finished my MA in linguistics last year and have just completed some additional coursework to round out my background. One of these was an introduction to artificial intelligence, which got me into Python. My previous coding background is in Perl, C/C++, C# and Java.

I love Python and have installed Pippy on my Palm IIIc and love it. I haven't done my own make yet to include packages I would like to have, but am rather impressed with Pippy. I'm also interested in cryptology and look forward to setting some Python to work on it.

My homepage is currently at http://students.washington.edu/blanch/ and is undergoing some big changes. It will also be moving soon, so watch for updates if you like my site (or are curious what changes will go into it).

My e-mail address is available from my home page only.
