I'm a relative newbie. I've used Python, as well as Perl, at work for a number of simple tasks. Right now, I'm looking into using it with sockets to control the machines in the performance lab I use here at my job. I love the language, and am fully comitted to using it over perl :), though I do miss the large amount of published (in various forms) support for that language.
