This page is general planning information for future events. The next/last event is at NorthwestPythonDay.
Location
We need a place that can fit 50 people at tables and has good Internet access. Preferably accessible by bus. The target date is a Saturday in late January or early February, or possibly a Sunday if that isn't available.
A couple of people have suggested the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma.
Rooms at the University of Washington (Seattle) are available via the Seattle Project.
- - Which rooms are available that can seat our target capacity? (50 being the prevailing estimate unless somebody has a better suggestion.)
- There are rooms that are essentially large classrooms, rooms that are more like auditoriums, etc. It shouldn't be a problem getting something that will suit the group. It's more that I need to know what we want.
- It depends on what is desired. There are different types.
- I need to check on this.
- All of these shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'm unsure what logistics need to happen for Internet access, but other conferences are hosted there, so it must not be an issue.
- If we want to have catered food, it's likely we'll charge some nominal fee to recoup the cost (~5-10$ per meal). If not, it most likely will be free.
- On the weekend there is plenty of free parking.
- Excellent bus service that drops off right in front of the building.
- There are ~40-50 in walking distance. Very wide selection of restaurants.
