This page discusses future sprints in general. See NorthwestPythonSprint for the next sprint and for links to past sprints. Add your comments at the end of each section.
Location criteria
- A big room with horizontal space (tables) for 25-30 people
- Internet access for laptops, preferably both wired and wireless
- Option of a second room in case it gets popular or people want quiet
- Open access (unlocked door) so it's easy for people to come and go
- Close to bus lines and restaurants/pubs
- Free, otherwise we have to charge for attendance
Location possibilities
This is for locations in the Seattle area. Other host cities will have to plan their own venues.
MeetingLocationConstrux (Bellevue). This is where SeaPIG meets, and it will likely host the first sprint. It's an IT company (meaning quality facilities and Internet access) with a cooperative staff. Location is central (Northup Way near 520's 124th Ave exit), but few restaurants or buses in walking distance.
- Seattle Public Library. New downtown library (opening May) may have a large enough room. Newly-renovated branch libraries have smaller rooms. Is networking adequate? Can we book a day rather than just two hours?
- Community centers. Have Internet? Can book for a day? Proably not free.
- Large room or garage in house, bigger than a standard living room.
- Cabin on penninsula. Anybody got one?
Date
A Saturday, with possible extension to Sunday. Two days is better for those travelling longer distances? The date should be at least two months after the venue is selected to allow time for adequate promotion.
